Little Fridas Art Class
“Nothing is absolute. Everything changes, everything moves, everything revolves, everything flies and goes away.”
Our young artists have been enjoying this art class to the fullest; it is a joy to watch everyone diving into colors while stroking their easel or their peers. While Nieve likes to paint her canvas and others, she also enjoys painting the floor and, most recently, escaping to the back and painting the slides. Madeline and Elliot also enjoy painting their easel for a more extended period, but often they realize they can collaborate with someone else’s masterpiece. Kudos to Parker and Isabella; they don’t mind having other artists painting on their space. Annabelle, on the other hand, is very conscious of her craftmanship, and she “doesn’t want anyone messing her painting up.”
To preserve some of their work, we have been clipping paper to the easels before they get to paint on the clear surface. With our oldest friends, we learned the mirroring technique in which we apply paper on the fresh paint, making it mirror back, ergo preserving their work on a more tangible material.
Every Monday, we honor Frida Kahlo by diving into painting on our plexiglass easels. This class is suitable for all ages, as long as they can stand and walk, they can paint 🙂
This class helps children dive into colors and experimentation with paint and a variety of colors, just like our beloved Frida Kahlo used to paint.
Art Class is every Monday 10:00 am to 10:30 am
